We provide security testing of external doors and windows to the following standards:
We offer security testing of all types and configurations of doors and windows, including sliding sash windows and double doors. We are also able to produce assessments of security performance based on existing test evidence and agreed principles.
The biggest driver currently in the UK for security testing (PAS 24 and BS 7950) is Secured by Design (SBD). This is the UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of ‘designing out crime’ by use of effective crime prevention and security standards for a range of applications.
Enhanced security performance represents a basic level of security designed to deter the opportunistic burglar.
Some projects may require higher security specifications or some manufacturers may wish to differentiate their products from those that simply meet the enhanced security requirements.
We provide testing against European standards for Burglary Resistance:
- prEN 1637
- prEN 1628
- prEN 1629
- prEN 1630
These test methods allow products to be classified at 6 levels, starting at the approximate equivalent of PAS 24 and BS 7950, rising through increased levels of burglary resistance to those required for nuclear or military applications. All levels of security performance are evaluated under the Chiltern Dynamics CDTM02 test programme.
