Air Tightness Testing Explained

A practical demonstration and explanation of the principles, process and practicalities of air tightness testing of buildings to meet the Part L requirements.

Overview:

  • The importance of air tightness
  • Part L as it relates to air tightness
  • Testing requirements for buildings
  • The testing procedure and process
  • Good practice
  • Common failure points

The day is aimed at:

  • Building contractors
  • House builders
  • Building control
  • Approved inspectors
  • Designers

Course delivery:

  • In-house ‘lunchtime’ CPD seminars (1-2 hours)
  • In-house half-day CPD seminars (3-4 hours)
  • On-site demonstrations (half or full day) – testing of a completed building including a report for benchmarking or compliance, identification and demonstration of air leakage paths and re-testing with problem areas sealed.  Enabling site staff/managers to understand the process and ‘feel’ the impact of their work.
  • On-site demonstration and seminars (half or full day) – as above, combined with the seminars from the Air Tightness Testing Explained programme.  Ideal for site and/or development managers.
